The spinnaker – or Spi for short – is a particularly large, deep profiled foresail made of light cloth, which is used down wind and on a broad reach course to enlarge the sail area. In principle, all sails that are raised before the forestay can be called spinnakers. However, spinnakers have their own characteristics that not every sail fulfills. With a spinnaker in the narrower sense, the center width (the connection between half of the luff and half of the foot) is >75% of the foot. There are symmetrical and asymmetrical spinnakers.
Buy a gennaker
Asymmetrical spinnakers are also known as gennakers. Gennakers are either driven free-flying or on a furling system. We manufacture the gennakers ourselves according to your wishes. Whether runner (A1 / A2) for broad reach to downwind courses or reacher (G1 / G2) for half wind to broad reach courses or code zero. The Code Zero is another additional sail, which perfectly closes the gap between genoa and gennaker.

You can order standard sizes of A1 Runner gennakers and spinnakers directly in our online shop. For gennakers and spinnakers that are individually tailored to your measurements, please send us an inquiry.
Here you will find detailed information about the equipment of our gennaker & spinnaker. The professional software-based calculation of your sail enables us to plan your sail the best way. Only very high quality material from established European cloth manufacturers such as Contender (Holland) and Dimension Polyant (Germany) is used for processing.
Spinnaker / Gennaker measurement form
Whether spinnaker, gennaker or Code Zero: you can find detailed information on the wind ranges of the various additional sails in our dimension sheet. Please download the form, print it out and go through the measurement instructions step by step. To do this, you need a tape measure, a folding rule and, if possible, a caliper (calliper). If you have any questions about measuring, please give us a call. We can definitely help you.
